Meet Our Pastor

Born with an unknown illness, Charles Toakesse was sent to a village witch doctor to be sentenced to death.  It was believed that the sickness was a sign that he was a "bad child," and nothing could be done but to rid the family of this child.  However, God had other plans.  When he was two years old, a woman of God prayed for his healing and spoke over him saying, "This boy has the hand of God over His life.  Do not touch him."   From that moment on, Charles was healed and set apart for God's work.

Despite growing up in a family that worshipped idols, Charles still found a relationship with Jesus.  However, his salvation did not come without trials.  His father, a devote idol worshipper, adamantly opposed Christ and Charles following Him.  For example, once during a church service, Charles' father came to the church only to drag the young man out and later beat him because of his faith.  However, this did not discourage Charles and he continued to follow God.

One day, in high school, he audibly heard the voice of God speak to Him.

"Your destiny is in My hands."

Even to this day, Charles knows this was the time that God called him into full time ministry.  He began to take steps towards ministry through Bible and missions school.  Now, he is fulfilling God's plan for his life and God is using him in mighty ways.
